Share

Open innovation R&D teams are formed from team members coming from all joining organizations joining in the project. This brings forth high levels of diversity in the team, not just in terms of functional diversity, but also in terms of organizational customs and culture. This diversity, according to theory, can be an advantage but also an impairment to team performance. Derk van Noord from Technical University Eindhoven Industrial Engineering & Innovation Sciences used this as a starting point for his master thesis research, which he conducted under supervision of dr. Josette Gevers of the Human Performance Management Group. Read more about this research here.
