Machines: the engine oil of the Dutch economy

The Dutch export revolves around machines. Not the tulips, nor the cheese, nor natural gas, nor cannabis are the big moneymakers of the Dutch export industry. The export of machines labeled ‘Made in Holland’ has benefited the Dutch economy much more in 2015, than the more well known export products did. The selling of machines and machine parts totaled at nearly 13 billion euro in turnover, making it the leader in the Dutch export by a large margin according to CBS. Natural gas came in second with a turnover of about 7 billion euro.
